Hi guys-

Watched the first terminator last night.
The new 5.1 sound rocks.
A classic.
The 80's hairstyles are a hoot, but make no mistake, this is one HEAVY ADRALINE pumping film.

I second this as a MUST BUY. The first IMAGE DVD pressing really sucked: bad print, bad sound. This new MGM DVD with the cool silvery cover is KICK ****.

I was totally won over (I hate Cameron, he sucks) by this film on this DVD. It's a far far better film than T2, and the presentation and extras can't be beat.

    It's a must-buy.

G'head. Flame me for the Cameron-sucks remark. Punk.

I haven't seen T1 on 5.1 but I did see T2. Was the sound as good or better than T2?

    LOL!

    That's great.

    cha-CHING!

T1 is far superior to T2 in substance and style. T2, tho, is a serious demo disc for 5.1 sound. The remastered T1 can't touch that because it is essentially a reconstruction of a mono sound track.

But nothing beats T1. Not even Ron-P.

Twister, The Mummy, 5th Element, Air Force One, The Matrix, Con Air, The Cell, Gone In 60 Seconds, Stigmata, Vertical Limit... Do I need to go on? Flame me if you like, but these movies, and many others like them, suck but sound great. Sometimes you have to have some demo discs for when the fam & friends show up.

I can see one or two, maybe, for demo purposes...but jeez come on, I couldn't watch more than 10 minutes of some of those movies.

I know a guy that has every movie that Micah has mentioned and then some. I mean come on, at 20 bucks a whack that is a little ridiculous don't you think??

    More than a little.
I only own movies I would never get tired of watching, even if it's once a year, that's the determining factor.
Unless of course it's a ok movie, but I can get it for less than $10.

Hey, wait, don't think *I* own any of these things. I own only about 6 or so "demo" movies, and they are all fun films in their own right so I can justify it. "Long Kiss Goodnight," "Blade," "Desperado," "The Fugitive," "Ronin," "The Wedding Singer," "Payback," "Die Hard," etc. Good flicks, great demos.

Here at work, tho, we have a drawer full of trashy flicks with no redeeming value except their sound design.
