One bad apple

It's a sad day for my daughter and her soccer team. The whole program is in jeoprady due to one bad apple.
The teams soccer coach was just let go as coach because of a situation gone bad between one parent and him.
He was wanting to go bigger and better and possible give these girls more play time by starting up an A-TEAM and
B- team and in doing so he could put more talent into team by recruiting girls from other areas.
There was one parent that had concerns and questions but instead of going to him she decided to send out an e-mail
to all parents that caused a big stir, the coach replied back and from what I understand things went south between
the parent and him so this parent reported him to the soccer board and now he can no longer coach youth soccer
nor the travel team any longer SAD
My dauther has been coached by him at the age of four and loves being coached by him. This guy went above and
beyond for the kids, he had pool parties at his house, cook outs at his expense, worked with them all year round
and asked nothing in return. He led them to great victories and defeats but never critisized them for the lose.
He made it fun and built strong frienships between the girls ( they clicked on the field, one well oiled machine)
and now it's all in jeopardy of being broken up becuase of ONE BAD APPLE.
The girls are all upset and have shed tears and do not understand why this is happening. My daughter was all
excited to play this fall with her coach, but now she doesn't want to paly. Practice was to start next week and now she
will be placed on a team at the last minute or they will find a coach to take up the team.
The travel team will be coached by another person and rumor has it that it's the same parent that had him removed
from being a coach....... WHAT BALLS :evil::evil: (or) broke up and never to play again togehter, what a sad
day that due to some poor judgment the kids are the ones that suffer.
Makes me sick to think that if only this was handled in person other than via e-mail that this may have been avoided
and things would still be the same, it lost the human touch and words were taked out of context the way it sounds.
We have a meeting with board members to figure out what to do and where to go from here.
rant over

I'm a soccer coach to and you'll always have bad apples but how you deal with them is the mark of a respected coach int the parents eyes as well as the board. I find it hard to believe that their were no lines crossed on his behalf even if prevoked. I find it very unlikely the board would ban him because of a simple disagreement. I personally meet with my parents so they can voice all opinions and questions away from the children. I also have a 24 hour rule which is if there is a disagreement on a parents behalf of coaching give it 24 hours so all sides can talk like adults because everybody can get out of hand. The best thing to do is gather all parents A team and B team to a united front to discuss with the board and so the positive impact the coach has had on the children he has coached. Hope everything works out and it might be helpful to remind parents most coaches volunteer and are human to. It would be a perfect place if coaches could please every parent all the time but aslong as the kids are good with him thats what counts not the parents opinion.FXi3 sats

One of the biggest problems these days, catering to the minority. There was one parent that had concerns and questions but instead of going to him she decided to send out an e-mail
Find out who "she" is and start a smear campaign.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

What could she have reported to this soccer board ?
"My kids not getting enough playing time" ?
"The coach is wanting to start an A & B team" ?
"The coach is wanting to step it up" ?
Not doubting your account at all, it's just not sitting right that this popular coach would get in effect a lifetime ban from coaching for something not serious.
Does this gal's husband own all the soccer parks in the area ? Why does she have so much pull ?
Although I agree with F1's "solution", chillywilly's approach is probably the better path to take.Sal Palooza
