Two centers or a pair of towers

I have the 1.2TL for my mains, CS400 center and the RT3000 for my rears. I have the Adcom 565's on the RT3000 and biamped the 1.2tl with the Adcom 555 and the Adcom 545. I have a Adcom 2535 mono 200 watts for the the center. I am using an Adcom 555 running a couple of ceiling speakers. I have a spare Adcom 555 that I bought thinking of hooking up another center possibly another CS400. But just wondering would I be better off getting another pair of floor standing speakers like the Monitor 60s or 70s and not run two centers. Due to space issues in my rack of my current system I have the CS400 off centered to the left and a few feet from the center. I was thinking of putting the other one on the right side to balance it out. Reason of questioning is due to centers are more geared for voices should I just stick with them, or would it pay to get some towers I might be able to squeeze them in as well. Just wanted to throw that out. I am leaning toward picking up another CS400 and run both on the Adcom 555 -200w by 2 and use the Adcom 2535 somewhere else or think of a reason to keep it in the system. I didnt want to spend a lot to make this happen as overall the system does sound fine. Bottom line would it sound better with 2 CS400's or a pair of tower speakers as the center? Thanks. Jim

I was hoping for someones thought on this. Is this the best place to post this question. Has anyone tried running to centers or a pair of towers. I am open for suggestions.

I would say just adding in a pair of towers without upgrading the processor from 5.1 to 7.1 is a bad idea unless you are in a crazy huge room. I'd also say adding in a 3rd different timbre speaker (TL, RT, Monitor) is a bad idea.
I have only seen dual centers above and below the screen so not sure your idea would work.

What do you think you are missing? Does the cs400 get overwhelmed? (I imagine that's possible given your full range towers all around). Lots of guys with big sdas like that just run a phantom center. I even have a friend with m70s who runs a phantom center and doesn't miss it at all. I definitely don't think you NEED towers for your center, especially mismatched ones. So if you feel like the center is getting drowned out of bit I would suggest either going with dual cs400s or adding a nice small sub with built in crossover and speaker line inputs and outputs in it and connect your center through that. You will be astounded how much bass comes through that center channel. Good luck!

I would add the extra CS400 and see how you like it. Resale value is great on that model if you decide you don't like it. Enjoy!

I should also mention I use a Sunfire Grand Theater 3 prepro. I think most are thinking of dual centers. The CS400 by itself does ok but kinda gets over powered from the other speakers, I do have room to add, the wall that my fronts are on is about 19 feet. But maybe a 2 to 3 feet to spare. I have a projector screen and plazma in the center. I appreciate the thoughts on this.

I pulled the trigger on another CS400, I think it sounded like the best option. A special thanks to the ones that responded. Polk fan for life.
