I,m going to upgrade my sub and have 3 options right now. the biggest space I have will only fit a 18"x18"x18", pretty much the size of the HSU ULS-15. I've heard good things about the DSWmicroPro-3000 and am also thinking of a Dual system like the SVS dual-SB12-NSD, I could put one of them behind the couch.
Its a small to mid. size room with 5.1 setup and I listen to 50/50 music and movies. So what do you guys think would give me the best bang (pun intended) for my bucks?

Can you go higher or is there something in the way?
The reason I ask is SVS has some cylinder subs that will dig lower and sound a bit better and are even smaller diameter wise, but are at min I think 36" tall.
Look at the SVS PC-12NSD and see if that might work good, if so you could do two of those, or one of the slightly bigger models, all of which would fit in your space size wise provided you have enough vertical room for them...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I can't go higher in the front of the room but could in the back of the room but don't know if placement in the back would work for me. It would be behind a couch or at its side in a corner.Anaheim Hills CA,

Personally if you like the SVS offerings, shoot them an email about your room and their suggestions. I got very quick responses from them when I sent them a couple emails, up to and including from the CEO of the company (30 mins after my original email on a weekend). They are a great company, so I would honestly shoot them an email. They wont lead you wrong from what I have seen."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Again thanks EndersShadow I did email SVS and they (Jack Gilvey) recommended the same one you did, PC12-NSD. I've found a place it will fit so it looks like this may be my next sub. :cool:Anaheim Hills CA,

Cool, I talked to Jack a couple times myself. Very nice people there. I am sure you will be MORE than happy with your purchase. If they can get steveinaz to buy and sub and be thrilled with it, the rest of us should have no problem with that.
And I mean that in the nicest way possible steve ."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
I have been extremely impressed with my SVS PB12-NSD. For it's price ($769 IIRC), it does a fantastic job in my 2-channel setup. I really didn't have high expectations for it, and was fully prepared to send it back for an SVS "Ultra" model---I was wrong. Keep in mind my room is 36ft x 18ft, with 8-14ft vaulted ceilings, and I like to rock out on occasion.
These "new" versions are all rated -3dB at 18Hz, use digital controlling, and larger amplifiers.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

Yeah man, look how long it took him to jump on the digital music bandwaggon. i keep hearing amazing things about HSU subwoofers..that is what i would choose.

I'm a big proponent of multiple subs, more uniformed response throughout the room. Another recommendation for the dual SB-12nsd.

I've decided to go with the SVS PC12-NSD, should be here Wednesday. The dual SB-12NSD was on my list but because the room is open to other rooms SVS told me they wouldn't dig down as low as a ported sub. I am going to see if I can keep my Klipsch in the mix but thinking the SVS will do the job on it's own...it's a small room.Anaheim Hills CA,
