Belles 55 Preamp?

I was talking to a local guy about what line-level preamps he might have available, since he is the kind of guy to have shelves upon shelves of old equipment and tubes and I am considering building a small desktop system. One of the ones he mentioned was the Belles 55.

The problem is, I can't find much information on the internet about it. It seems that it was made in the early 80s, originally by David Belles himself before he was bought out (presumably) by OCM. Information is abundant about the Belles 2xA (20, 21, 22, etc.), and they are all well-reviewed and well-liked. The only information I could find on the Belles 55 was actually about the Belles OCM-55 and consisted almost entirely of a single thread on Audio Karma and a couple sale threads with vastly different asking prices.

So now I guess I am asking:
Is anyone familiar with the model?
Does anyone know a fair price for it?
How many different models with near-identical names are there? I have seen pictures of a few with different face plates / different RCA jack arrangements / internal vs external power supplies.
Isn't it pretty?

First of all, I've never heard a bad thing about any Belles equipment, so I'm sure you could do worse; especially for a desktop system.

Second, why don't you just try emailing David Belles through the Power Module website and see what comes back; what's the worst that can happen?

I sent an email to David. I'm not sure how much light he can shed on its value, but maybe he would be willing to give a perspective on the circuit design or the different models of it. Just maybe.
