Got me a Csi40
I picked up a Csi40 at CC today for $249. Sounds a bit cleaner and more detailed than what I had before. Goes well with my 38s up front and 28s in the rear.
What's the break-in period for it?
What has been folks' experience with bi-wiring it?

I picked up a CSi40 today at Circuit City for $299, NIB.
CC confuses the heck out of me sometimes. I called around in the (Portland) area and one of the other stores in the area was selling an open box buy CSi40 for a low, low $329.99.
Early B., i'm bi-wiring my front CSi40. I started out by not bi-wiring, but i think it sounds a bit cleaner now on vocals with multi-channel audio (SACD/DVD-A). Haven't done much movie watching yet, though. I'll probably bi-wire my center back CSi40...because i can.
Guess i'm set now! I've got a pair of RTi150s (bi-amped), a pair of FXi50s, and now two CSi40s (center and center back).

Have had mine < a week and its just GREAT. My buddy swore by his JVC center (forget the model #) until he heard the 40, but havent bi-wired yet. Trying to save the a new sub and then a new rig. Then will bi-wire with some good cables. BTW that is about what i paid for mine 250.00 OB.Life without music would♭

Pete-
Did you check out the Jantzen Beach store? I haven't shopped speakers there but they were pretty good to work with on a TV deal. I was pissed off at Fry's on an open box deal I was trying to make on my XBR. I went to JB and they matched the price for a NIB set -

CC pricing is completely random. It seems like each store can and will set their own independent prices and has their own policy on whether or not they will match other store prices. The only reason I got mine for 299 (they wanted 399) was because the CC website had a price of 299 and they were willing to pricematch the CC website.
I wanted to get a better deal on the CSi40 but was tired of doing all the legwork. I shopped for months to get the deal I wanted on the RTi70's and I was sick of bargain hunting.
I'm now contemplating upgrading my surrounds, R20's, to Fxi30's but no one local seems to have them anymore -

Awesome setup..... Fantastic for a HT setup. And if you have good wattage on the sub section of those 150's you won't need a extra sub at all. I have 200 W/C going to the subs on mine, and had thought I would get a dedicated sub for HT, but once I heard and felt the amount of clean, fast LFE coming out of them, I know I didn't need another sub, period.
Early B.,
Congrats on the CSi40, great CC speaker, I really wouldn't worry much about breakin on it. Bi-wiring, I used Horzion Music's MegaFlex 10 ga. Overkill I know, but what the hey. I got it for 89 cents a foot. LOL -

I got my FXi50s and RTi150s at Fry's. My first CSi40 came from Crutchfield because Fry's wouldn't budge from $400 for it (for an open box item!). My second CSi40 is being used as a Center Back speaker.
I've got so many friggin' Polk cardboard boxes around my house that i could build a toolshed! Of course, up here in Oregon it wouldn't last long!

The Rotel receiver allows me to redirect the front channel amplification for center back speakers. I don't know how common that is with new receivers, but i think it's a great addition! Just got that going last night. Wasn't as easy as i thought it would be. At one point, my center back was playing left front sound, the center was doing nothing, and the right front was also playing left front sound. At least the rear surrounds and sub were working properly.
I decided to hang on to my sub (Sunfire True Subwoofer). I raised that issue a few weeks ago and was sufficiently convinced that it would be a good idea to hang on to the sub for LFE. It's a nice little sub and it's certainly not under foot, so why not hang on to it?
