Just ordered the PB2

Hello, my name is Duffman and I'm an audioholic. It's been, er, 6 minutes since my last A/V purchase.
<group> "Hello, Duffman"
Just pulled the trigger on the SVS PB2. Had my questions answered pretty quick by Erik at SVS and decided to just go for it. Now the explanation to the wife goes something like this:
"Honey it's really just a 45 day trial after which we can send it back if we decide we don't like it..."
Notice the discrete use of the word "we". Think I might also do a preemptive flower bouquet strike while I'm thinking about it.

After 45 days, you will be sleeping next to it with a 12 gauge shotgun to fend off would be returners.
We SVS owners tend to get that way........a little on the rabid side."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

It's the ISD. The plus would have been (even more) insane. -
Congratulations Duffman. Great name by the way. The wait will be incredibly painful I'm sure. That is if your wife doesn't kill you first.Graham

Great purchase DuffmanCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Naturally we can expect some review posts right? I will likely be doing the subwoofer thing next as well, so your, and anyone elses, posts will be very valuable.

Congratulations Duffman and I like the image above. You may want to get two dozen flowers for your wife. The PB2s don't exactly blend into a room, although mine is starting to look smaller than when I first got it. The PB2-ISD is one very impressive subwoofer and quickly becomes the centerpiece of a home theater setup. I haven't tried the Plus version, but I can say the ISD more than exceeded my expectations for only $950 delivered. Anything comparable from another store-bought company would have been at least twice the price.

i know this isn't cool to hijack another guys thread... but does anyone know if SVS sells stock in it's company? Is it publicily held?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert  -
I severely doubt that they sell stock. No need to do that. Tom and Ron have got the business started and are running things their way. I can not imagine them wanting to open themselves up to outside direction from shareholders.
Now saying that, you can invest by buying their speakers...There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. No worries on the hijack. From what I can gather SVS is a privately held company.
For that matter, the website offers *very* little info about them. I gather they're somewhere in the East (based on the EST time reference on the website).
Doc, do you know where they are physically located? One of my net purchase golden rules is never buy from a online vendor that doesn't state it's location. Based on all the + references I trust these guys are for real but it's still curious..... -
I'm pretty sure thet are some where in Ohio, BUT, I may be wrong.Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

The SVS R&D and manufacturing facility is located in Ohio.
The partners and board members live in different parts of the US. Not a real limitation at all in this virtual world of video conferencing, email, and telephone.
All SVS components are sourced in North America and everything is built in /near Ohio. The BASH amps are sourced from Indigo in Canada, and the drivers are sourced from TC Sounds in California. All enclosure building and finishing is sourced locally near Ohio.
About the only thing not from North America is the Samson amps they offer for the passive subwoofers. They are built in Korea and imported into the US. The Crown amps they offer are US made.
If you scour the website hard enough, you'll find most of the above in one place or another.
The company was founded by Tom and Ron, but there is a board with investors, just like any privately owned company. They are not publicly owned, they do not sell stock, and if they ever go with an IPO, I'll be first in line to buy a shitload of it."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

I believe that both Tom and Ron live in Colorado Springs, or at least that is according to their AVS ID'sThere is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. AVS moniker aside, I'm almost positive Tom works at the R&D and manufacturing facility in Ohio. He often posts details about testing, shipping, receiving, and production related issues that really could only be gleaned by someone who was actually there."What we do in life echoes in eternity"
