Love my Monitor 12's

I've had several pairs of speakers from different manufacturers and I can honestly say I've not enjoyed any of them near as much as I enjoy my $50 garage sale Monitor 12's. I have them paired to my Carver 900 receiver and it is pure joy. I had to post this after having listened to Steely Dan's Night by Night, ELO's Telephone Line, and Fleetwood Mac's Tusk. I heard elements in each song I'd never heard while listening to them in the past. Same with Boston's Peace of Mind that is currently playing. I have decided to look for a pair of SDA's because if the Monitors sound this good I MUST hear some SDA's.

What is real interesting my Monitor 10B's which I had hanging in the corners of the Mancave. One of them didn't work but they stayed there for about 15 years. I had a really nice Kilpsch 5.1 speaker system for the computer. The Kilpsch system died. So I purchased an Onkyo TX-NR709. I decided to get the 10B's working until I could get something better to replace them. to get info' checked in on this forum and Classic Speakers to get some pointers on getting them working. It was then I found what I had. I spent a couple of hundred refurbishing them. Now it isn't getting something better to replace them, it is can I find a speaker that is as good.

i just wanted better computer audio... bought a cheap DAC, had an old NAD amp/pre-amp, and hauled up my 11Ts that had been in the basement for 10 years.... and it sounded a bit like mud.
upgraded amp/pre-amp, reworked the 11Ts, just got the new Schiit today, putting Larry's rings in tomorrow, and the only thing left (i think!) will be to redo the veneer...

rabbit holes run deeper than wallets, but the fun never stops!

    welcome asp69!
