Maybe so, but that doesn't make it ok to post it. We even shy away from posting phone numbers too.

That is odd, I think I was just there a few days ago, and it was working fine...
Now it seems like the server that hosted the site is no longer doing so? (stretching tech-skillz to the max at this point)

Maybe try emailing Mark (doro) or PMing him, though he's been pretty scarce around here as of late.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I can't imagine doro feeling the need to keep the forum open for 3-4 guys griping political.
I think(jmo) his goal, was to attract enough traffic, and then sponsors. I've seen it on other forums. He, and the mods wouldn't have gotten rich or anything, but, every little bit helps. Especially in this economy.
I'll miss it, but I understand his decision.

So, you're sure that's what happened?

I guess it makes sense, I just figured maybe some warning might have been given, or a quick explanation (if there was something posted on the site, I did not see it)
Maybe he could make an appeal for a membership fee or something to defray expenses. Nothing to lose by trying.

I dunno man, lots of guys were talking guns and ammo too, probably not as often as the political threads but still. Regardless, if Mark shut it down so be it, his call.

He posted prior to the shutdown that it may go down due to something about being busy and forgot to pay the fee. It will come back up. For the time being, if you have a political rant, take it to the voting booth.

I'm not sure of anything, I was just speculating. I never claimed to KNOW what his motivation was, just compared it to other forum ventures I've seen in the past. It can be a profitable experience. Not Steve Jobs profits, but...

My apologies to Doro, Demi, & Gad, for speaking out of turn:-(

Not sure if it's coming back.
I sent Mark some mail a week ago about the forum being down.

My personal opinion is that the resultant forum didn't meet expectations.

It will be back or it won't. Not my call.
