Congratulations to your wife. I've been to the Gilroy garlic festival. If you like garlic (and I do) it's a great festival. I haven't been to it in about 10 years, but I still remember driving on Highway 99 past Gilroy and you can smell the garlic in the air as you drive. It's great.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

    Ditto that!

We have a lot of middle eastern cuisine in these parts (I think the largsest Arab population in the US).
Garlic is prevalent and very tasty!!

I've always wanted to go, and my brother and I promised each other we would go some time; my wife hates garlic...

That sounds GREAT! Love the garlic, grew up with it as a kid. Both my mother and my Italian neighbors used some in almost everything. Then I started to get into Chinese food when I got to NYC, and behold the magic clove appeared with great frequency and flavor again and again.

My father used to eat it raw for his health, which never went too well with my mother, especially before bed!

Love the stuff! And I take it in pill form as well! Good luck to your wife. Hope I can get out there for that someday!

Rolled in early this morning from the garlic fest and extended stay on the west coast.
Wife did not place but we still had a great time.
Spent the weekend in Gilroy, a few days in SF, and a night near Manteca on an almond farm.
The weather on the coast was stupid nice........50's 60's 70's......It's 110 here today in SW OK.

On an almond farm near Manteca!?! I used to live there (in Manteca). Those almond farms are becoming scarce in that area unfortunately. Same with the pears, peaches, etc. They were/are leveling the orchards to build houses, stores, etc. It's unfortunate. They are doing the same thing west of Stockton (in the Delta region). This area is literally the 1st or 2nd best soil in the entire world for growing crops. Unfortunate.
