Thanks for the heads up. A quick search reveals they're on sale at sonic for 25% off with coupon code NA25.

I might end up picking up both the 4 channel and mono block.

EDIT: Actually, they raised the price from the OP i saw on diyma. They were $269, now they're $299. So instead of $195, they're $225. I might pass. Plus, they don't have a 2-channel and I want all my amps to look the same if possible.

I like the looks of the PPI model. Wonder how good they are. Too bad we don't have any car audio magazines anymore to find these things out. :(

Most feedback I see on diyma on PPI 900.4 is positive althou having purchased Polk D4000.4 when it came out I hate to say it but I really didn't like it. Cheap plastic, stupid layout and most important - dull sound.
Now I know there's people that win competitions with class D amps and all but I bet that would never be the case if they run D4000.4 I had. It is powerfull and all but dull to the point of me selling this amp just to get some of the money back and going back to P500.4 which I was hoping to replace due to it's huge footprint.

Anyways, here's 2 more clones of this same amp:

    Nakamichi:

    and Hertz.
Hertz def has a huge visual differance that makes it stand out between all of the above - filters on top. Which is really cool and practical imo.
There's also some other minor visual differences but most believ it's the same amp:

So does anybody make their own amps anymore. Yeesh I weep for the state of car audio. Makes me want to retire. After owning the REAL PPI amps back in the 90's, its just hard to accept the stuff out now. Damn tuners and ricers wanting chrome flames and blue LED's, MP3's and iPods doing away with the need for high end sources and big companies buying out all the small ones and shutting down their quality pieces in favor of lowest common denominator, mass produced rebadges. All that has just destroyed car audio.
