I'm going to move the recently purchased 8000 headphones along. I purchased these a week ago directly from Polk. I can still return them, but generally don't like to return things if I can avoid it, so thought I'd start by seeing if anyone here is interested. I'm going to leave this posting open for a few days and then if there's no interest I'll (begrudgingly) return them to Polk for a refund.

I posted a review of the headphones in the thread linked below. They are very comfortable and sound superb, as indicated in my original review. So why am I selling them? As noted further down in a later post, the noise canceling has to be one for them to work and it turns out I just don't like noise cancellation in general (that is not specific to these, but all noise canceling phones in general). Were it not for the fact that the ANC has to be engaged to use them, I would have decided to keep them.

You are not making my life easy with this....

"Were it not for the fact that the ANC has to be engaged to use them" This is my problem as well.

Well to make things even easier, they're yours for $250 if you want them, same goes for anyone else local to the DFW area. I need these moved along (gotta start recouping some of the money I've put into other gear). I'll give it another day or two here then I suppose I'll have to just return them to Polk.

Final Price is $265 SHIPPED / $250 LOCAL

After tossing and turning the past days, I must move on. I am staying with the IEM's for now and with a sight on the PSB headset. I think that will work perfectly at the office and replace what I am currently using.

BTW, one hell of an offer you have here.

Noise Cancelling circuit, even my el cheapo JVC's let you turn it off.

I'll leave this for another day then I'll return them to Polk, hard to believe nobody wants them for almost $100 off.

Sadly, true! Have to save up to buy my daughter a guitar for her upcoming B-day. We were hitting the local pawn and music shops today. And even used those babies are not cheap!

I agree though, about noise cancellation. Don't like it. However, as mentioned above, I'd just turn it off if I had a set of these. Don't understand why "everyone" is putting NC into a lot of their headphones these days.

I am in line to demo these very soon. Thanks to the powers that be, but all I know, it was Jon that I communicated with. I will have to demo them and like them mucho and miss out on this deal. Oh crisis.

I do know ahead of time that these are bad **** sounding, I just need to block out my Co-Working Cold War Russian Developer/Friends of mine at work.

How much time do you have left?

No disrespect. But If I am looking for a way to cancel out sound, don't you think it is my number one concern? If I am looking for a stellar set of headphones, why would I bother with NC? I do not care what the trend is or what is important to mainstream. I want silence at work while enjoying my world and its music. Wrong thought???
