Alrighty. I've finished the initial re-working of the System Showcase. Instead of just porting the old version I re-wrote how the data is managed on the database side which in turn lead to me having to re-write the entire management system. All in all I think it is much easier to use now. But I know how you all hate change so I expect someone to complain. In the future I hope to make it more fancy without all the page refreshes and eventually add a rating system but those will have to wait.

As you may know you can see all the systems here : http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/system-showcase/

To edit your system just go here: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/system_showcase_manager.php

I'm sure I forgot something and if you guys have come across any errors just take a screen cap and let me know what you were doing when it happened + what browser.

As always, any suggestions and feature requests will be ignored

We don't all hate change! Only change for Changes' sake. Like constant upgrades to operating systems that add more features by making everything "less" transparent and less user friendly.

Change should lead to SIMPLER, EASIER, MORE OBVIOUS, FASTER ACCESS. Etc. Unfortunately, the geek squads that are responsible for change can't even explain how to use the simplest feature to a total novice! That's the problem.

Did you ever peruse a computer manual. It's written in Geekspeak. It "assumes" such an "incredible" familiarity with "computing" that anyone who doesn't spend all his hours exploring ALL the new features and perusing special sites that reveal secret info under the new system (MANY layers under). Is pretty much left to crash his bike into an indestructible carbon-fiber wall.

As an educator I struggle with this "all the time". I have to take current ideas from Ph.D. researchers and translate them into something "comprehensible" for a first or second year college student. This is what TECHS are not taught to "think" about. Interface, communication, access, understandable!

That's not to say that you guys aren't doing a good job. Just keep the above in "mind" when writing code and compiling, etc.

I spent a couple of years as a Beta Tester when I was a grad student, working in a small company. Where I used to drive the programmers crazy because I could come up with something (on the user end) they hadn't considered, every day, every day! Why? Because they aren't "taught" to think about that!

    Thanks for your work!

So let me make sure I got this straight: something's changed and will be different than what I used to seeing ?

I hate it, no matter how much time, energy, and effort you put into it, I absolutely hate it !!!

..... I'll now go take a look at the changes just to make sure I'm correct in hating it.

Excellent work, btw. But I'm still going to hate it.

    Nick:

I just updated my system and when I go to view it there is no image next to my description and it says "This showcase has no images yet". I just uploaded 10 pictures to the gallery however and all those are showing up. Do I need to do something special to get that one image to populate?

    I am using Firefox 14.0.1

I see what you're saying. Let me take a look for you.

EDIT: I fixed the issue. If anyone else is having problems please let me know and I'll see what I can do for ya. thanks.

@cnh I totally understand what you're saying. So if you guys have ideas on how to make things easier for you guys let me know. Since I'm not using the showcase as often I'm sure you'll come up with something that I don't think of.
