I'm going to be putting mine on 1" spikes in the near future. Right now they're about 4" off the ground and the bass is so good that at times I can't tell if the sub is on (they're the front L-R mains in a HT).

What amp do you have pushing them?

Its tje parasound in my sig. Dont get me wrong they have plenty of deep base, it ia tight and fast
hqving said that ive noticef in all the other "monitor series " 10's 7's. Even 12's always sound better up on a short 7" ( or so) stand. Ive found the same with other speakers with passives ie: ess, old klipsch(kg series, ) and others. It seems to me the passives seem to get the base affected more than speakers with active base drivers. My equip. Is not lacking in dynamics in the low end at all.just courious if anyone had experimented with height? Im going to play with it today and tomorrow just ... Cause! im sure when i do the opamps in my DAC things will change as well as when i do the caps in the 12c's.just something ive not heard discussed on the forum in any detail.

I had a set of RTA12B's and preferred them up on stands. They were short stands 6" or so off the ground. Similar to the Monitor 10 stands but not tilted back. It seemed to open up the sound and add a little more depth to the bass.

    I say go for it.

First Guess: Changing the speaker base will also affect the bass.
