Ok this freaked me out!!!

I have alarm clock set for 4:45am and usually hit snooze three times being that I do not have to be at work
till 6:00 ( I KNOW BAD HABIT ).
Well this morning I was up and alert before alarm went off and doing the morning drill. I returned to the
bedroom and turned on light ( which I never do because wife sleeping). AND OMFG!!!!! i noticed my wife hanging
off side of bed in strange position and thought what the heck!!! That is when I noticed blanket wrapped around
her neck TIGHT( 3x !!!) and to make it even worse my youngest girl was on blanket which caused it to restrrict even more. I tried to remove but with daughters wieght and my wife hanging there I couldn'f budge blanket. I had to pick up my girl and toss her to other end of bed so I could remove blanket ( which I had to cut).
My wife was dazed and confused for a little bit but came out of it, she is fine. I asked what the world was going on
last night and she said she had a bad dream that she was being murdered!!!!!!

WOW thats is all kind of messed up

You had to CUT a blanket away from your wife's neck first thing in the morning? She's not dreaming about being murdered. She's dreaming about being Olga Korbut or some s**t.

You need to rein in that household son.

That's a strange story. A dream that is so vivid that it leads to actions in one's sleep might signal the need for some professional help? I gather that your daughter is very young and she sleeps with the two of you? My wife and I also had our daughter with us, perhaps a little longer than normal (but that's another issue).

Is your wife "stressed" out about something? I've seen people move around quite a bit in their sleep but to end up wrapping a blanket around your neck so as to almost choke you. That's not a good sign.

I echo Mr. Grand's sentiments above. He does with "one" sentence what has taken a paragraph or two for me!

Nightmares are the brain's way of saying, "HEY ! YOU NEED TO WAKE THE HECK UP !!"

Seems to me that with you being out of the bed, your wife may have been subconsciously rolling around in bed trying to "find" you.
She gets the blanket loosely wrapped around her neck in the process, rolls off the bed, and the blanket tightens.
Brain tells her, via nightmare, "We don't have a clue what's going on, so WAKE UP ! We're ... uh .... being murdered !". (or possibly murdering Olga Korbut ?)

    All good.

BUT: one thing if I may.
We always slept with our kids when they were newborn/very young. There's debate over that*, but do what YOU think is best. But if you do, you have to keep your KID Radar on mega-uber-ultra long range.
Even if you're a heavy sleeper, the radar has to be on and active.

I'm a heavy sleeper and can literally sleep through a house fire. BUT: put a child in bed between us, and the radar goes active.

*Regarding the "Child in Bed" argument: Native Americans (aka Indians) and Eskimos did it, and I've never heard of any maladjusted, psycopathic, pampered spoiled Eskimos or Indians. Just my view.

The thing is I always get upset when the kids sleep with us because I myself can't sleep. I am always afraid that I will roll over and crush them,I am some what of a light sleeper the way it is. I even have to put my wrist watch in a drawer so I do not hear it
    tick.
When one of our kids is in bed with us it's even worse so I know what you mean.
