I'm searching for 2 pcs. 10" woofers for Boston Acoustics A100 series II. Obviously they need to work, but the foam surrounds don't need to be ok.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

I assume that you're just posting on as many audio sites as possible because you'd probably be more successful finding some replacements at audiokarma.org

Also, there is a thread here. An old one about woofer replacements for those speakers that were a very close match at partsexpress.com

Can't remember where it is. But it's a comment by one of our older members, Russman, who did the replacement and was fairly happy with it! Try a search with his user name in it!

I know from owning a pair of series III A100s that those earlier woofers are paper cone and not poly.

    Good Luck!

Have you tried calling the company?

I have a friend who has a set of A200s that use the same woofer. He called the company about 10 years ago and got some of the very last replacement speakers they had in stock.

Although it's a great idea. B.A., unlike Polk, does not keep it's stock as long, nor manufacture new replacements for old speakers! I also called B.A. to find out whether or not Series III A100s had the previous paper cone woofer or a newer poly. No one knew. The response was, those speakers are too "old", we don't have that info anymore. So over to AK I went!

    Advantage, Polk!

Nonetheless, the A100s are a nice speaker and worth bringing back. The A200s and A400s even more so!

    Thanks for your replies.

I have an old set of A100's, which has been lying on my attic for several years due to some blown driver. Recently I purchased a nice pair of tweeters on Ebay, and are now in search of a pair of woofers.

As it seems the woofers are rarely on Ebay, so I decided to make an WTB post on www.classicspeakerpages.net. Today I discovered this forum, I decided to try here as well.

I have read the tread regarding the Dayton 10" from partsexpress. But are for now, not interested in this replacement.

Obviously I will now also try audiokarma, as there is no way to buy any Boston Speakers in Denmark today.

I tried to contact Boston Acoustics, back when the drivers where blown. But at that time the spare parts were already discontinued. Anyway I will ty to contact them again.

    Again thanks for your replies.
