Klipsch Synergy

I have been offered 2 Klipsch Synergy F3 Floorstanding speakers and a pair of S2 surrounds for $400. I couldn't really listen to them like they deserve because they could only be hooked up 1 pair at a time. And the straps connecting the posts on the F3's are gone, I guess they were biamped at one time.

The condition is about 9 out of 10 and all drivers seem to be working fine.

Are they worth the cost and, since I don't have an AVR with preouts to connect an amp to, what will it take to replace the straps?

The good news is that the Klipsch are very easy to drive and you will get good sound using your AVR (providing it is a decent one). Also, you can use speaker wire to connect the posts. Most here agree it sounds better anyway. Just use the same type wire that is running to your speakers. About the price? Not too sure, but you can look online at various places and see if the pricing is fair.

are they 5way binding posts ?
if so make a jumper with short speaker wire and use a plug in conector to drive the speaker , this way nothing is in the way and is safe to hook up .

20hz, yes they are 5way. I decided not to buy them, but I will tell him about the jumper wires he needs. I just don't have room right now for them. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow, my mistake they are not 5 way binding posts. There's no place to attach bananas on the end of the post.

Yes, there are places to attach bananas on the ends of the posts - you just have to remove the little plastic cap thingies that are plugged in there.

I sold the speakers on CL for my friend. I discovered that I don't really care for the horn tweeters. Nice bass and mid-range sound but I didn't care for the highs. Someone drove almost 2 hours to get them for the asking price though, so I guess it was in the right range or low.
