One of my midrange speakers has a tear in the cone. It runs from the surround to about one inch short of the dust cover. It appears to be made of plastic. The surrounds are a rubber material.

Has anyone successfully repaired such a tear? Or is replacement the only option?

Thanks, Mike

    Welcome to Club Polk.

For it to sound right, replacement is the only option. Gluing would change the cone weighting and also create nodal distortions. It would be ok as a temporary fix until a replacement can be found. I believe it used the MW-8000 which is also used in the S8. They are a little rare but do show up in the for sale section and on ebay once in a while.
