Had a very enjoyable evening, sitting on my deck with a few drinks and listening to tunes. It was especially enjoyable because my 21 year old son is home from college, had the night off from his girlfriend, and joined me for some tunes and drinks.
Anyway, as i posted previously, my nad 355 bee died just after the warranty expired. I replaced it with the marantz pm 6004. I really enjoyed my time with the nad but the marantz has left me very very satisfied. The marantz is slightly less powerful on paper and is a lighter amp but boy is it a capable little integrated. Very musical and lively with good bass that is not as bloated as the nad. It also runs a lot cooler than the nad and is priced very reasonably.
I listened to the traveling wilburys, beck, dave matthews and melanie gardot and enjoyed every album.
My takeaway, you don't need to spend big bucks to get great sound. This is my inexpensive outdoor system that includes polk atrium 55 speakers and it sounded fantastic.
