Laptop to AVR noise

I have an older Dell Laptop that i hooked up to my Marantz AV7005 via HDMI to watch some concert video and hopefully streaming video tonight.
It looks great and sounds pretty darn good considering.
My problem is when in quiet sections you can hear the processor running.
Is this just because i dont use the DVI in back or what?
Main Rig-Realistic AM/FM Record player 8 track boasting 4 WPC

    Dont use DVI. DVI doesnt do audio, just video. You have to go HDMI to get both audio and video. The processor and graphic card will run and make noise when your using it. Its just part of the deal.

    Thanks Shadow.I really don't hear much when playing stuff so no biggie.Just wanted to be sure i wasn't missing something.
    I guess if i split the signal and run teh audio thru a dac i still get the noise.
