Want to post a question about something been bothering me and hope you can help.
After I turn off my power amp(adcom gfa 555 II), in about 6-8 sec I hear a series of
soft pops, three to be exact. Is this normal or some problem with this amp?
On a side note would like to mention I have a set of Polk SDA 1C, I drove from Atlanta
to Chicago on a icy weekend to pick up, they were worth it. Buying the parts for future upgrades
now, just bought some of "Gimpods" new crossover boards. Hope to be able to order some of Larry's rings next week..
Great forum and great group of people here! thanks in advance. Craig

That is normal. Your filter capacitors are discharging. My GFA-555 MKI does the same thing.

    Nice looking system.

Welcome to Club Polk, and nice speakers!

I have the adcom 555 and it makes a soft puffy popping sound when I change sources on the remote, and when I fire it up or off. I don't know if there is a fix or not. I read online there is, but I have no idea what it is or if it is worth even messing with.

Mine does not make a popping sound but when I shut the rocker switch to off on occassion I hear what sounds like the amp is spooling down, then off,I don't think this is a problem it's barely noticeable.Turning on power is immediate .I've also noticed that my 555 does not get hot or even warm at all and that's after all day running.
