    Rest in Peace, Mr. Lord.
This guy helped write some of the best music ever created. PERIOD.
    You will be greatly missed:cry:

Not only did he write some amazing songs, he was a hell of a keyboard player. R.I.P Mr. Lord

+1 on what obieone said, Jon Lord was a master of the keyboards. Loved his piano work on the Kate Bush song "Wuthering Heights" sung by the absolutely beautiful Hayley Westenra on YouTube.

Another of the greats from the classic rock era is gone. Rest in peace Mr. Lord. Some of the best organ riffs in all of rock were born at your fingers.

RIP Jon - Your keyboard sound was like no other. It was like they had a second lead guitar player onstage. I'll have to bust out my copy of Machine Head as a tribute today.

Sad News indeed, Saw Deep Purple a few years back. They still knew how to rock.

There is something just so Rock and Roll about that Hammond Organ sound.

You will be greatly missed Jon Lord. RIP and Godspeed to you sir.
