Keeping this one simple... refinishing the enclosures and new grill cloth...
These sound amazing, I have owned a set of Studio 1a before and these are unique in that they do not fall apart with rock music at all...
Very very nice sound. I believe a buddy of mine is going to give these a good home once they are complete!

Thanks!
I am actually very surprised how well they cleaned up...
I also gave Parts Express new higher end grill cloth a shot and it is much nicer than their "stock" grade..- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Nice! underrated speakers in my opinion.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Trey,
In which way the higher cloth better? -
Parts Express regular grill cloth is more of a grey than a black and it is super thin, very very cheap feeling...
The new cloth is a higher grade of fabric and pitch black... I like it much better- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Nice work, definitely a worthy speaker to do a make-over on.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it.
