SRS 1.2, SDA 2tl and ADS 810 for sale

I am on the verge of picking up a SRT system, so I have decided to downsize some of my collection. All speakers are for local pickup. I will be giving Polkies the first opportunity to buy these before they go on ebay.

First up are the SRS 1.2 speakers. All of the tweets have been upgraded to RDO-194's. The speakers are in excellent condition. They come with the IC. The price is $1,700

The next in line is a set of SDA2 tl's that were Hamatym's. They had every mod done to them and are in excellent condtion. It comes with a IC. The only change I made is install SL3000 tweets because I liked the sound better with these particular speakers. This is plug and play. All the work has been done. The price is $550

The last set are the ADS 810's. They are solid wood and sound excellent with no issues. One of the grilles is missing the ADS logo and has a small faint water stain on the bottom corner of the grille. The price is $300

    Here are some pictures of the speakers for sale plus I am going to sell some speaker stands. I am not sure who made the stands but they do a nice job holding larger speakers like the ADS 810 speakers off the ground about 6 inches. The stands are $30 plus shipping.

    The CRS+'s with the pin/blade IC. They are currently sitting on my SRS 2's in the picture but I do have the original stands for them. One of these days I will have to have a family picture of my Polk collection. The SRS 1.2 sale is currently pending to vcwatkins.

    It was a pleasure to meet and chat briefly with Bluecomet, even though I was completely out of it from the 12 hour drive and have no idea what I said LOL. Fortunately the Big Boys fit flat in the Yukon. I was a bit worried that we'd have to turn one onside, but it wasn't necessary. We got them unloaded and hooked up last night and I am very pleased.

    What I didn't expect was improved HF detail over the SRS2's they are replacing. In fact they are approaching the 707's in that respect.Very airy and smooth. Plucked acoustic strings have a fullness and sparkle that is more pleasing than the SRS2's and 707's. The soundstage is not quite as mind-blowingly wide and precise as the SRS2's and the mid-range seems a tad subdued and less warm; but I expect these will improve with Dynamat, Armacell, rings, and spikes.

    Another pleasant surprise has to do with the 707's. I had to move them wider by 6" o.c. and toe them in a bit more, and the sound is remarkably better. Weird how these are so, mmm... finicky with placement. They are 12ft apart right now.:eek: I had pretty much resigned myself to selling the 707's in order to buy Bluecomet's 1.2's and do the upgrades. But, sheesh, these things just keep pulling me in with their outstanding detail. Easily the best I've heard at low volume levels and incredibly realistic in HT. To me the two speakers are fascinating to A-B. Completely different approaches and similarly excellent results. I know one thing - It's going to be very hard to let the 707's go.

    Get those mods done on the big girls and I am willing to bet the 707's will be looking for a new home. And trust me when I tell you a tear will not be shed when you sit in that SDA sweet spot.

    I would like to keep these SDA2 tl'd speakers in the club. The speaker were tl'd by Ben. They have Larry's rings installed on them and you can see better pictures of what was done if you search Hamatym and look up SDA2 tl'd speakers. He has detailed pictures of the crossovers and the sonic caps and upgrades that were installed. I would never think of selling them if I didn't pick up my SRT sytem. $550.00 is a steal for what was put into them. They are plug and play. All of the hard work has been done to them.

    I am reviving this thread. The SDA 2 tl's are still for sale. They are in excellent condition. They have been completely modified and are plug and play. Save yourself time and money if you were thinking of going the tl route with these speakers. There are no cracks in the wood. These are one of the nicest SDA 2 speakers you will find. The price is $475.00 The ADS 810's are $300.00 They are 4 ohms, solid wood and have no issues except a very light small stain on the bottom corner of the grille. You can barely notice it. The grilles are not metal like newer versions of the 810. The SRS 1.2's have been sold. I live 10 miles north of Scranton. These are for local pickup and cash only deal. Thanks.
