Just got my 5jr's. Sound very nice, even with the silver domes. Maybe a little bright, but I'll give them some time. Nice bass response for such a small speaker. Heavy, too. Crankin' some Robben Ford right now. Sounds sweet.

Welcome to the forum farfam! I'm glad you are enjoying the 5jr's. The sl-2000 is a very bright sounding tweeter. You would do well to buy the RD0-194-1 tweeters which are a direct replacement for the sl-2000. I think you may have to slightly modify the cabinet of the 5jr's to get the RD0-194's to fit however. I haven't owned the 5jr's so someone else will know better. There are a number of upgrades you can do to your speakers to improve them. You can do a search for crossover upgrades, dynamat, and gaskets.
Edit: I think there was also a verson of the 5jr's (I believe the 5jr's +) that used the sl-2500 tweeter as well. The replacement for the sl-2500 is the RD0-198-1. You should absolutely find out which ones you have and let us know.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

These are the black trimmed ones that say silver dome on them. Aren't the trim on the sl2500's all silver colored? -
Yeah, the "silver dome" tweeters are the sl-2000's. The sl-2500 are a darker colored dome and have a foam ring around the dome.
If it says "silver dome" on them, they are definately sl-2000's.

Welcome to Club Polk!
The 5jrs are nice bookshelves! What are you using to power them, just curious!
Enjoy!

Right now they're hooked up to my Pioneer SX-939. I like that vintage power! -
That should be a nice combo. Actually, I'm currently listening to our local FM college station on a Pioneer SX-838 and a pair of EPI 100Vs. Also a great combination!
I like that series of Pioneer a lot!
Enjoy!
