Pair of class D amplifiers

I have a pair of these class D amplifiers that I used to power Carver ALIIIs and my father-in-laws LSi15 speakers. These amps are awesome with great sound quality and tons of power, however they are not a great match to my corner horn speakers, and I want more tubes... They rate at 220wpc at 8 ohms and 440wpc at 4 ohms, and excel at powering low impedance and hard to drive speakers. If you are considering any type of pro-amp for home use, these are a much better option, and a fairly low cost option for some high power. The amps have gain controls for each channel, so the volume can be set to match the rest of the system, or for use in bi-amping.

I'll let them go for $400 each shipped, or $700 for the pair shipped CONUS. They will come in original boxes with original foam packing to keep them safe.

Thanks. They sound fantastic with almost all speakers I've tested them on. Even my old Klipsch Fortes sounded good with them; it's just the corner horns really need tubes to sound their best.

They look small, which is good. I know these are class-d so power efficiency would be their advantage. I just spent a lot of money for some other gear, so I won't be able to pull the trigger on these, but is sounds like a good deal. BTW., what is the company that made these units? I couldn't find it anywhere. I have noticed made in USA.

Yes and they did very well paired with tubes. Still not enough tubes for the corner horns, but a great combo with every other speaker I used.

One amp is off the market and in my system. I'm now having it run the woofers on my corner horns, and it sounds fantastic. Nothing better than tubes feeding the high and mid horns and 440wpc feeding the 4 ohm horn loaded woofers.

Agreed. SS for bass has a certain punch and snap that I haven't found with tubes, as much as I love them. Plus, these class D amps do a fantastic job powering low impedance (and/or low sensitivity) and controlling the woofer well.

"Get Lost With The Sound" It's a compliment to these amplifiers.

Really though, it means "good luck with the sale", and there are probably better places than a sale thread to ask that question.

I believe that his post was a link back to the previous comment that John's tube amps would drive the woofers better. No hard feelings between me and John.

It is a class D amp, so it does sound different than a conventional A/B. Having talked to Tom the owner of Class D Audio, one of his design goals was to make an amp that was inexpensive enough that people would take a chance on it and try out a new design and newer technology. Everyone I have let demo the amp has liked the sound, but don't expect it to sound like a 250wpc A/B amp; for better and worse.

While those amps do image well and have a tone I can see most enjoying, they still don't have the woofer control of a good class D(topology or brand) amp.

Completely agree as any price, let alone $5500 for the pair. I'm not against expensive audio equipment as I don't have any where to talk with these speakers, but spending the wrong money is the wrong place is a waste of funds.

Class D technology is very interesting in that it offers sound that one do not get from the conventional class a/b. Worth the trip.
