he was an interesting guy; far more to him than Lt. Cdr. Quintin McHale...

There never was a man so brave
Who sailed a ship over sea and wave
[Something, something, something - teh fricking interwebs is coming up dry on these lyrics!]
He's the Tiger of the Pacific
    Quintin McHale!

(Why do I remember crap like that?)

Mr. Borgnine was, famously, married to Ethel Merman (once referred to by Patty Larkin as "The late, the great, the dead") for, what, like, 30 minutes?!?

Crap. He was a wonderful actor, and one of my favorites. RIP.

    A little bit of humor....

Hey everyone... moreover he was a World War 2 Hero. And yes we are losing are WW2 vets at an astonishing rate. I run a bumper sticker on the back of my truck that says "Like Your Freedom? Thank A Vet!" Everyone should.

    RIP Mr. Borgnine.

You definitely were a class act as others have witnessed. You loved acting and we loved watching you do your parts. I think he helped Gilligans Islands' success as much as gilligan and the girls and the Prof. and Mr. Howell and his wife did. He was the perfect match for Gilligans antics.

His War movies were great also.

McCales Navy was great. I remember my dad watching it and I was right there too. Black and white if I remember right.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

RIP Ernest Borgnine, you were a great actor and will be missed.

By the Way Tony, He was not in Gilligans Island. That was Jonas Grumby. My buddy got that confused as well.

Who's Jonas Grumby? Was that Alan Hale Jr's real name (the pic above)

AH jr. looked so much like his dad, who starred in Errol Flynn movies, westerns, etc. in the 30's, it was uncanny.
