Missed Incredible CL Deal

I stumbled upon one of those once in a lifetime deals that I just had to go after even if it meant facing the wrath of my wife who thinks I already have too much junk. She is right.

I found this in the DC Craigs yesterday...

Vintage Yamaha / Polk Audio Stereo - $200

Classic high end Yamaha/Polk Audio system. $400 obo, you pick up. Original packing boxes too.

System includes:

Yamaha M-60 Power Amp - 160 watts/channel @ 8 Ohms
Yamaha C-60 Control Amp
Yamaha T-80 Tuner

I wasn't clear if they were asking $200 or $400 (not that it mattered much) and I never heard back from the guy.

I've saw great deals like that and couldn't get hold of the seller too. Don't it just make you want to get in the car and drive up and down the streets hoping you can spot where the seller lives or something so you can buy them?

It would have been entertaining to see my wife's face when I dragged a pair of SDA-1C's into the house.

That surely is a sweet deal. I remember a listing last year that I completely missed and I was browsing everyday...then didn't search over the weekend and resumed Sunday night. Consisted of Yamaha MX-1000, CX-1000, and the tuner, CD player, tape deck, and a pair of 1.2 TL's all for $1000 OBO, original owner. My heart jumped and I emailed as fast as I could type and the speakers were gone. Components were avail but after that I realized missing a day of work was out now.

I know someone on the AK site grabbed the Yamaha's and may be a member here....great score nonetheless.

Dude, keep trying. I have found deals and not been able to get in touch with the seller for a week or so. Keep in kind that the listing was put up 7-3-12. At that price it is likely gone, but the 4th was just yesterday. the seller could have been traveling or something. I would keep trying. good luck.

True or he could be without power. There are still many folks without power in the MD, DC, VA area.

Stan - A great find, for sure! Hope it works out. A couple months ago, I came upon a Yamaha M-80/C-80 combo. If the 60 is close in performance to the 80 (I think it is), then this really is a "too good to be true" deal!

From what I have read, the 60 is very close to the 80 in design. That Denon TT looks pretty sweet too. I emailed the seller again but still no reply.

Same here. I figure he got a lot of responses and got smart. Probably see it listed again at some time with a price hike.

Polk LSi15 , Pair, giveaway - $500 (Catonsville)

perfect condition, brand new crossovers, not even installed still in box, we can install together if you want once you buy, I have have to install them by March. Look these speakers up on Polk website, when you come look at them I will have hooked up

I might have to give up on CL.

I emailed or called and I was the first to get there. He wouldn't come down on the price since he just listed it 1 hr. before. He left the ad up for days after I had bought them. It's still listed, I just checked.

The adcom GFA555 works great but the GTP500 pre's tuner doesn't. The rest of the pre has the usual Adcom little static here and there like a loose connection inside on the shafts.

The SDA-SRS2's are nice but one grill was scrathed up by a cat and I'll have to regrill both to match. I thought it was a good deal since I always wanted my own GFA555 since I heard one a couple of years ago. And I do like the SDA-SRS2's sound alot too.

There have been alot of people NOT responding to my CL emails lately too. I thought my emailer was broken or spastic.

I got my sda-1c's off Craigslist in Dec-11. $250, one blown MW6510 and no cable. I had to re-glue the sides and re-stretch the cloth on one but it was convenient and I knew when I bought them what I had. Local rules on something like this. :cheesygrin:
