For sale is my very nice Pioneer SX 950 receiver. This is my own personal unit not some garage sale/ pawn shop find. The SX 950 was made by Pioneer 1976-77 and is rated at 85 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 110 into 4 ohms. It is built like a tank and weighs 42lbs. If your looking for a really nice one this is it.
This 950 is in perfect working order. All controls and lights work as they should. There were 2 caps and a transistor out in the phono section and I had those replaced. No snaps, pops or any issues however in the interest of full disclosure I should mention volume control has a very very tiny bit of static at the very bottom of its range. It can only be heard if there is no signal playing. Most would not even notice it. I have had several Pioneers of this vintage and you can tell by the feel of the buttons they have been used. The buttons and controls on this one have a very tight and firm feel to them. Based on that and the general apperance i do not think it got much use by the original owner.
The faceplate and glass are in excellent shape. There is only one scratch on the very top surface of the faceplate. Again it is on top when you look down at the unit from above, not on front. The walnut cabinet is in beautiful condition. EVEN THE AM ANTENA IS THERE and not broken. Very rare. The original cord is there but was repaired because I used/use a detachable cord with my gear.
This is an excellent example of a SX 950. It is in excellent condtion ,looks great, and everything works as it should. Nothing to fix or repair A turnkey deal. Check my feedback!!! Asking $349 Thanks, keith
