Hi, today I went to JFK airport to drop off my kids (7-14) I had a flash light and a multitool that has a knife in it. I did not think of it until my daughter asked me how I got trough security with that knife? I was shocked wend I realized I passed security with a knife!!! after I waited for the flight to take off with my kids I went to security and I asked for the manager and I explained to him what happen and he was surprised that I did pass with a knife, He called the person that was working at that time and sent her to an office and the manager thanked me for doing that, He took my multitool as evidence and got my phone number and a copy of my ID. now I am worry about if I can get in trouble for doing that. I just wanted to show and tell them to be more careful next time, that is all!!! What do you think about it?
PS: I had a flash light and multitool because of my job!!!

I'm sure they just took your multitool to show people what to look out for and they will return to you shortly. Good for you for being responsible. Most people would have just left the airport without alerting the TSA that they missed something....again!

Look out your window, those guys in the van down the street are watching you. Oh, and by the way, you'll never fly again.

Well, I do not care about my multitool, But I care about the safety of everyone that can travel and these days We see a lot of psychos that can do big damage with staff like this. I just want to know if I could get in trouble for what I did.

You in trouble...NOT...the agent that got sent to the office is probably getting written up at the very least.

What ? For being honest? ....Probably, in this day and age. Seriously, you have no legal ramification headed your way, but you might have gotten someone fired witch could (in union circles) get you snuffed, we'll have to wait and see how that plays out. LOL
