Adcom 5802 Bal vs Unbal

I own a Adcom 5802 and have unbalanced cables plugged into it from my Pre. Today I was dusting and inadvertently flipped one switch to balanced from unbalanced and the sound became slightly lower in volume but still heard music from that one channel. Is this normal to still hear sound even though I had the cable and switch flip-flopped?

    Totally normal. There is nothing wrong with the unit.

    today i had sometime to sit down and have a good listening session. i still have the balanced cables plugged into the amp but was listening with the switches turned to unbalanced. the music sounded fuller on the unbalanced side than balanced. i actually like the sound this way. would I cause any harm by listening to it this way?
