Polk Audio soundbar

Just purchased Polk soundbar, blu ray player (Panasonic), and plasma TV (Panasonic). I have the soundbar connected to my HD Dish Network receiver and have sound through the soundbar for the TV. The blu ray player is connected to the TV via a HDMI cable. There are also audio outs on the blu ray player but not connected to anything at this time. The problem is that I only get sound from the TV speaker (vs. the soundbar) when using blu ray player. How do i get sound from the soundbar when using the blu ray?
Also, now I have four remotes (Dish, TV, blu ray, and polk soundbar). The Dish remote can't synch to any of the new stuff - tried all codes, calling Dish network - no can do. Can anyone recommend a remote that will likely work with all components - Dish receiver, blu ray, soundbar, and TV?? Thanks!!

Hello PC,
Thanks for posting on Polk's forum. One possibility would be to connect the SurroundBar, using the supplied digital audio cable, to the TV's digital audio output. Then connect the player and Dish Network receiver to the TV via their HDMI connections. The TV will act as the source selector and feed the digital audio output to the speaker. Then use the TV's remote to teach the Polk volume up/down, mute and on/off, since the Dish Network's remote will operate the TV it will operate the Polk after you have taught it with the TV's remote.

Thanks Ken. I've tried hooking the audio output dirctly from tv to soundbar but no sound. I called polk's cust servic but Matt said the soundbar not able to recognize signal. I don't understand how this could be. Should I just run another line to the soundbar from the blu ray. Again, the soundbar is connected from the hd dish receiver not the tv and I only get sound with TV not blu ray.
Thanks -
Hello PC,
I would imagine Matt was indicating that the Panasonic could not send a PCM digital signal to the SB and so it couldn't process any audio. If the DVD player has a way to send a right and left analogue signal then use an RCA to mini-plug cable to connect to either input 2 or 3 on the SB.
I hope this is helpful.
Cheers, Ken -
PCman,
Check your Panasonic TV Sound settings can find the info in your TV manual, as a A/V Installer I have learned that the most common issue is the TV sound output via digital audio is not set to a signal that the soundbar (SB) recognizes. Also make sure that your TV is set up to disable the TV speakers, so not to get a echo. If after you check with your TV manual and still not able to get sound please let me know what Model TV you have and I will check at my store and see if we can check with one of our 3000 SB.
