Suggestions on a center spkr?
Hey all, newbie here. Have a question. About centers. I recently purchased the RM510, which consists of he RM center, two RM8's, two RM7's, and the psw110. Despite some neg reviews, I LOVE the psw110. Maybe the small room (11x14) makes e difference, but I took the time to tune it and properly place it, and love it. Was pleasantly surprised by the rm8's, nice wide sound field, but hate the 7's and center.
So here is my question. I'm going to buy a set of monitor 30's (use them as side surrounds in my living room and love them) to used as fronts, and at least for now move the 8's to the surround position. The room is small, and doubles as my bedroom and studio (I'm a painter). My 46" tv sits on my dresser, and there is no room for a center on there with it. My rm center is wall mounted above. I love my cs1 in my other setup, but there is no place to put it in the bedroom. Is there a comparable wall mountable center I can use that wil match the 30's and rm8's + ps110 setup? This receiver is only a 5.1 because of room.
Thanks in advance for any help

Seems to me that the RM8 center or RM7 center are the logical choices. I am not real familiar with the series of speakers, but since they are in the same RM family, it should do good.

Well, I have the rm8 center. And I hate it. Thanks for they reply though. Must be a tougher question than I thought, with so many views and only one reply.
Argh. -
I owned these at one time and was really impressed for the size. I am kinda surprised that Polk didn't keep making something like them. They are the sats and center from the polk rm7500 set:

I say just scrap the monitor 30s and get these if the reserve is reasonable. Better quality speakers overall and made to be mounted.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

ZenFury,
In all my years peeping, and now posting I've only seen a handful of people talk about the RM series. I believe techkno kid (probably have his name wrong), as am I, a fan. I don't have any opinion on trying to mix the series. I would have initially steered you towards polks VM series. The series provides you with a larger selection of center channels, while allowing you to maintain a small foot print. Polk's RM7302, RM6902, & RM6901 was replaced by the VM series. I would suggest that you keep looking at ebay for the older models in order to keep your cost down. It might just be best to bite the bullet and get VM10s and VM20s. As luck would have it, I just checked ebay. Some guy appears to be selling 3 VM10s for a $140 buy it now price.

I have not heard the VM series, but they appear to be everything the old RM8000T, RM7301-2, and RM6901-2 was. -
Well, I had already ordered the 30's by the time I had seen someone finally replied. As I thought, they filled out the sound nicely, although with the rn8's on the back I miss the wide field in the front. Anyways, having the 30's makes the rm8 center sound even worse. Argh. I suppose I will just build a shelf for the cs1 and order that. I am a bit afraid of having it so high though. As it is the top of my tv is eye level standing, and I'm 6'4". I guess we shall see. But thanks to those who offered up some ideas. I am, for better or worse, a person who just cannot buy used speakers... Well, I would have a hard time buying anything used for my system, to be honest. Anyways, thanks...

Buddy, my advice to you is get a stand that u can retrace or hide when not in use. With that said, u'll have more options choosing your center to match ur monitor 30s (keep the same series). Keep in mind that center must be superior than ur fronts.
Eg: keyboard stand. I use this on my system, works great!Godspeed,
