I am looking for a quality surround system. I looked at several Denon and Sony ES systems. Can anyone offer an opinion on any of these or any others?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Are you talking about Receivers? Htib systems? You have to do better than that if you want any legitimate help.
Try: Hey i'm looking for an avr with these features, this is my budget, these are the speakers i need it to power, this is the size of my room and what I use it for, what does everyone recommend? You can get some great advice on here but you gotta give us something to work with. I like Denon but I don't know if you're talking about a 1312 or a 5308 so can't really comment. -
Budget: $500
Room Size: 10 x 12
Needs: I want HDMI inputs and outputs. Would like something I can network. Speakers can come after the fact
Would love something that sounded great in 2-channel to power my Polk 12B's and build the rest of the speakers around that.
If I could find that I would sell my Carver gear for the right sounding system.Carver C-1, M-500 MKII, Yamaha HTR-5835, Polk RTA 12BM's (M-for mod'd). -
After doing some homework, I have found two AVR's that look like they will work:
Harman Kardon AVR 2650
Denon AVR 2113CI
Both priced at $650 (of course they are overbudget!). Both rated at 95Watts, which I think is plenty.
Right now I have a modified Carver C-1 Preamp, a modified Carver M500t, and Polk 12B's with many mods and upgrades. I like the sound of the 12B's. I would like to keep the Carver amp and Polks dedicated to 2 channel, and both of these AVR's have a 2-channel zone output that looks like it will do just that.
Does anyone have experience with either of these, or a similar piece of equipment?Carver C-1, M-500 MKII, Yamaha HTR-5835, Polk RTA 12BM's (M-for mod'd). -
For $629 you can get the Denon 3312, i'd take that over the 2113 any day especially since its cheaper.

Onkyo TX-NR809 would be another option at $599

If you need to save a little cash then the Onkyo TX-NR709 is $419. It still has analog outputs so you can add on an external amplifer later on down the road. If you go below the 70x series you wont have analog outputs.
