Hi, i was just playing my sda 1-a's at high volume when i heard buzzing from the wall , which is 4 inches from my right speaker, when i put my ear to the wall i could here the buzzing and sound.

Is this because the speaker is not ported and all the direct sound is bouncing into the wall?. i have them facing

forward, and have them raised off the floor with a wood riser on spikes. thanks.

4" is way too close to the wall. You need at least a foot, and 2 foot is preferable (if not more). If you have access to the back side of the wall (I am assuming it is drywall/sheetrock) you could add some pink foam board glued to the back side between the studs and try to acoustically deaden the wall somewhat.

Lets be clear on this. Are you saying your a few inches from the side wall or are you saying that the speaker is a few inches away from the back wall? You want 3 feet from the side wall for them to sound best.

First Guess: the wallboard (sheetrock) is not firmly attached to the studs.

Second Guess: the whole wall isn't rigid enough.

Has NOTHING to do with whether the speakers are "ported" or not. (The passive radiator is just a fancy port.)

Drywall Does Not Belong in a Hole in the Ground (i.e. basement) . . . as mold will grow unless you meticulously maintain humidty levels and leakage . .

btw, there's 2 kinds of basements
    1. those that have leaked water in the past AND
    2. those that will leak in the future . . . deal with the drywall first!

If you are listening to 1970's speakers in your basement you may want to think about replacing the drywall with paneling and also addsome nice shag carpet and maybe some beanbag chairs.

This whole basement water leaking thing made me think of a guy's house I was at a while back looking at some gear for my HT.

When the house was built originally there was a swimming pool built in the basement. Keep in mind that this wasn't a big house at all so the pool was maybe as big as a couple of hot tubs, only deeper. This guy had drained the pool and was converting it into a sunken HT. neat Idea but way too small for proper sound. Anyway the house wasn't treated for the pool and mold was everywhere. Even the beams for the next floor were untreated and or painted, just bare. I couldn't imagine anyone even thinking the house would last very long like that. Good thing the guy did away with it.

Anyway good luck with fixing your noise but i'm like others here; you may have other things to think about as well.

Pretty much describes my basement, except for the shag rug (no shag but, an ORANGE/RED patterned indoor outdoor nylon-like seventies design patterned wall to wall with the obligatory paneling and pink fiberglass insulation behind the panel. Very '70s! Although, if I'm not mistaken, most SDAs are really an '80s speaker!

yes if you have a leak then mr. mold will happen. If you or whomever were to use pressure treated studs and blueboard(which is code in many states w/ permit applied for) ,mold does not eat any of it.

Not sure how we got from a speaker being too close to a sidewall and hearing resonation in the wall structure to discussing basement wall moisture and mold problems? Hopefully the OP has been able to move the speakers and is enjoying them with their choice of beverage!
