Amp hunting (my monoblock has static)

One of my monoblock amps is static(y). I only paid $80 / per so no big deal. I have heard good things about the Yamaha P2500 and I can get it at guitar center for less than $400 new (with coupon) and they have a really no hassle return policy. Would like to go new and keep it under $500.

I have the LSi 9's.

One of the Audio-mastering guys at GC encouraged me to take the Yamaha home (he was convinced I would like it). So I now have a new amp. Definitely nicer than the MA-500's when playing at louder levels. Keeps it together and is transparent. The LSi's like the extra wattage.

It has a fan but I've never heard it and the few times I put my hand back there even after some 'dynamic' play back :) Nothing. Didn't even turn on.

BTW picked it up for $363 plus tax.

I believe I now have a piece of gear that I didn't have to pay too much for and can drive anything in the Polk line up w/o breaking a sweat. I doubt I even tapped what the amp can really do.
