Honestly looking for ideas advice. Im a die hard polk loyalest. Have a full 7.2 TSi HT setup (TSi500, TSi200, CS20, RT3, PSW125 x2) anyways. I am looking to do up a desktop setup. Nothing to crazy but I am not very interested in any desktop speakers I have seen around.

Im currently playing with the idea of buying some OWM3s or 5s and running them off an older 2 channel amp I have. Anyone have any ideas? Im looking for a 2.0 system. Something rather small and polk would be nice. I have 2 slim 27" samsung monitors on my desk. Looking to keep it simple and clean.

I use AudioEngine A5s and a Velodyne SPL800 subwoofer for my desktop setup. Sounds great to my ears, but the AudioEngine speakers do dominate the desktop. If I were going to do a Polk system, I would look very closely at the Blackstone TL series, and would probably go with the TL3s. I would still want a powered sub though.

I have the Blackstone TL-3's on my desktop and a MicroPro 2000 sub setting beside the desk. Great system! I'm using a Cambridge Audio 550 integrated amp and a Nuforce DAC.

I have the audioengine a2 and love them. They are amplified so it is a simple solution. Look for the reviews audioengineusa.com

I'm running a pair of LSi F/X speakers for my computer rig. They are a little large though...
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I'm in the process of dismantling my desktop setup which sounds great (when I had a DAC in the mix and not just off the soundcard). Using Acoustic Energy AElite 1 speakers powered by a Cambridge Azur 340A Int. Amp and a Velodyne VX-10 sub.

I don't think I would want something bigger then what I have. About the max size for my desk.

The topic of desktop audio comes up often enough that I wish Polk Audio would develop such a system. I had actually written Polk Audio about the idea and they said that they would look into it.

A desktop system with a DAC (with USB interface), amp (could be Class-T) and speakers based on the Blackstones and a compact sub would make a very nice package.

They did have the Polk Hitmaster which I believe a couple folks used for a desktop setup. Personally I just use headphones in my work setup (with a Yamaha R-3000 receiver).

Otherwise the Blackstones are supposed to be good, Polk has the VM series which have a small footprint, or you could even do something like the Monitor 30's.

Otherwise I would look at the Audio Engine options, or another is KRK. I prefer those two because those speakers were designed for near-field listening, whereas the Polks were designed to be farther away from you.

I run some KRK Rokit 6 Gen II and they are very well balanced. They are a little big so maybe the 5" model might serve you better. I also have or have owned the Polk TL250, Audioengine A2 and Behringer P2030P and if you're not going to run a sub would highly suggest the Rokits. They have very good bass and are front ported so you can run them close the walls if need. They also have adjustable HF settings to tame the highs depending on room and listening preferences. The 5" are $150/ea or the 6" is $199/ea.

Make sure to pick up some Auralex MoPADs to isolate them from your desk.

That's a great product idea. I like the idea of having a DAC directly incorporated into the setup.

I use the Audioengine N22 desktop amp to power a pair of RM7s. The audio signal comes out of my laptop via an AudioQuest Carbon USB into a NuForce uDAC2. I use AudioQuest G-snake RCAs to link the DAC to the N22.

I use Rti4s with an 8" Infinity sub on my PC. Powered by a late 90's Sony ES receiver. It sounds awesome.

A pair of Blackstone TL3's and a nice sub would do you just fine. Those Blackstones are real nice sounding.
