No experience with them, but it looks like a favorite choice out there for your table, the SME M2-9 Tonearm. I can only recommend Sumiko's Bluepoint EVOIII or the Blackbird. Nice open body cartridges that sound magnificent with my Yamaha PX-3, but the cartridge really depends on what you are looking to achieve and the associated gear.

I think I might have misread your post. This one is not a serious suggestion but, just thought it was cool as Hell when I saw it yesterday on ebay !

Thanks, Nooshinjohn. I have a SAE Mark IIIa amp and a HK Citation Eleven preamp and SDA 2bs. My experience in past lifetimes was almost exclusively with Shure cartridges, mostly the V15 Type III and IV, which everybody had. I found them very capable but not breathtaking. Now, I am using a Denon Dp7f that I picked up from a friend when I got back into 2 channel a few years ago, and it has a Shure M110He I think. Its a P-mount and not exciting at all. I got the Thorens recently but no tonearm. Time to upgrade to a nice tonearm and cartridge and use the Thorens.

What is your budget for a tonearm cartridge? Jelco or SME 3009 are common aftermarket arms used on the Thorens.

Here is a real nice TD150 with custom plinth/Graham 2.2/Otofon Jubilee over at the Lenco Heaven forums.

    http://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=3322.0

He previously used a Jelco SA370H arm with Denon 103 and Uwe ebony body. You can do some google searches for other Thorens arm/cartridge combos.

What cartridge you end up with must be compliant with the arm and gain of your phono pre amp. A low output MC (like .25mV) will require 55 to 68dB of gain.

Rega RB250/RB300 tonearms are good choices as well.
