Has anyone tried the Speltz anti cables? I have been thinking of trying a set. They seem very reasonable.
Thanks!

I've tried them before in the past. They're decent for the money but nothing spectacular. There is another cable out there that is made with the same wire as the Anticables, but is cryogenically treated and pre-burned in. They are the JW Audio Cryo Novas and you can find them here www.jwaudio.net They kick the living crap out of the ACs in my opinion. In fact they sound better than just about any speaker cable I've tried except for the Analysis Plus Oval 9s I'm currently running. They cost the same as the ACs also, so it's really a no brainer. One tip if you decide to go with the JWs, get the unterminated bare ends and don't get them with the terminations. It has been noticed by many users including myself that the terminations cut-off the highs slightly with the JWs. You'll get much better highs running them un-terminated. Of course if your system is on the bright side of things and you want to tame it down, then running them with the terminations would not be a bad idea. Hope this helps.

Tried 'em, didn't care for 'em.

A budget DIY alternative: I bought a 250' spool of 12 gauge double build magnet wire from Paramount Wire Company for about $50. I laid out the wires, cut to length, and gave each pair a twist at 1 foot intervals. They're pretty stiff as you might expect, and considering the solid core I decided to terminate the ends (at various times with gold plated spades or bananas). I don't know how they compare to cables from Speltz, and wouldn't want to put a dent into their business, but I liked their concept, and couldn't really afford to buy from Speltz at the time, so perhaps consider this cheap experiment if you're curious (maybe split a spool with some friends).
