I am a huge fan of Philip Glass who is a composer of Minimalism, Classical, Contemporary classical, Ambient music. My collection of his music is not complete but of all of what I have as far as I am concerned his greatest work is the Opera Akhnaten (1983). I finally played Akhnaten on the refurbished Monitor 10B's. The cost of the speakers, capacitors, and resistors was paid in full. Oh My God what a sound! The thunderous funeral scene. Window of Appearances sung as a countertenor/soprano/contralto trio. If you have never heard a classical male Countertenor you are in for a treat Paul Esswood is one of three natural Countertenor's that re-establish this voice in modern times. The aria, Act II Scene 4 "Hymn" (to the Sun), Paul Esswood, (Akhnaten) singing countertenor is electrifying, glorious! This opera is sung in ancient Egyptian, Biblical Hebrew, and Akkadian. No words can describe this work you have to hear it, Please! As good as this is sounding on My Monitor 10B's it must be stupendous on a large SDA array

Here are the three releases I am aware of, I have the 1987 CBS CD set.
