If I can adjust the temp through my I-phone, that means the Government can do so as well. If I want my living room to be colder than a meat-locker, that's my choice. I fear that soon enough though such devices will be made mandatory so Al G. can fly over in his mega jet and see what temp you have set, then turn off your power for using too much.

Oh, so you do use a mobile phone. You do know that if you can talk and listen to other people talk on a mobile device, that means that "the government" can listen in as well. And that goes for text messages too. Ladies and gentlemen, let's not let paranoia control our lives.

The question is not if they CAN do it, but SHOULD they. I think it's safe to say that everyone knows whatever is done on a mobile phone, internet, will be viewed by someone else eventually, but where does that intrusion end once you open the door ? Answer....it doesn't, hello !!

Your communications by phone or internet are monitored, you have sats and drones now to spy on you, gps tracking to know where you are, even at schools. Land rights and gun rights are being assualted, what you consume in the way of energy, even what you eat is being looked at. Who has their head in the sand ?:rolleyes:

I installed mine in July and it's saved me probably $40 a month since then. Not bad since my bills were 150-160 previously.

Its great. My son is living in our house in Texas where the Nest is installed. He loves it too.

I tried to get one for our house in KS but it is some sort of high tech heat pump but I am hoping the second gen will work. If it does I will buy one.
