Watch out for the new guy - Jon Schroeder

While he's new to us, he's not new to audio or for that matter, the forum.

Jon started yesterday as our Managing Editor of Digital Media. So if it's digital and from Polk, it will have Jon fingerprints on it. The Website, the Forum, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, and so on.

A man of many talents, he joins us from Crutchfield where he had a different role. As their Media Director he created, produced, shot and edited the videos you see all over the Crutchfield site. There he also managed the video distribution and feedback though Twitter, You Tube and Facebook. No doubt you'll soon see some of Jon video talents on display for Polk.

So stand by, he'll be checking in soon. His head's spinning at the moment - we don't start slow here.

By the way, Ken and Tony will continue on the role as overlords and masters.

I forgot to say. Jon's also going through the early weeks of fatherhood so he may fall asleep in the middle of a post.

Patrick is still here as is Nick. Their skill set and specialty is web programming. You can still moan to Patrick about the way things work or fail to work on the forum and website. He'll be as responsive as ever. heh-heh

Debra and Adam were tending Facebook and Twitter. But it is far from a top priority of either. They will still contribute.

Ken and Tony are still monitors of the forum.

    I take afternoon naps.

Jon fills a position that I've long been fighting for. Old timers remember when we were active daily participants. Regretfully, that hasn't been the same since Micah left. (little known fact: Micah is still righting much of our copy from his palatial estate in the North Carolina piedmont).

Jon?s primary focus is on reviewing, responding, refining, improving and expanding our digital properties and capabilities. With that comes participation in the Forum (but I didn?t tell him that until he had already moved his family from Charlottesville ? couldn?t take the chance).

So not to worry; Patrick will still be as condescending as ever. Tony and Ken still take no prisoners. I?m now napping in the morning as well as the afternoon.

It has been sometime since I asked Mark to fill any official role as moderator. Everyone wanted him to be one of the guys again. That's when Ken picked up the load. Mark is still a vital contributor on this and, with Russm representing us on other BB's. He still manages the product exchange and helps with, and in the case of the Capital AudioFest, manages shows.

Which is not to say that Mark doesn't have strong opinions. And we know he cares deeply about Club Polk. I'm just not putting him in the position to be the heavy.

Not at all. I don't get high scores on diplomacy.

Either I have totally srcewed up the anouncement or you're looking for conspiracies where none exist. As I said previously, the web, the forum, facebook and twitter were parttime jobs at best for many. All who are contributing now will continue to do so but they will have the support and direction of one whose primary function is to make our digital media (including the forum) more relevant, up-to-date and interesting.

You mean you guys are putting more time into designing and producing speakers than making it easier for forum members to **** at each other about whether tubes producing distortion is "bad audio", or all digital audio cables sound the same? Come on, what's with your priorities??:wink::cheesygrin:

    And welcome Jon.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
