What kind of SDA SRS speakers are mine-are they appreciating?

I have a pair of beautiful SDA SRS Polks and I bought them from a guy who stored them wrapped inside his house for 7-10 years previous to me purchasing them from him. They're gorgeous, I'd say at least a 9 out of 10 (no scratches, wood is beautiful, grilles are perfect and sound fantastic).
I'm confused though as I've heard there are different versions of these bigdaddies (2.3, 1.3?, etc-I do have the interconnect cord) and I'm not sure how you tell that if so. I'm also trying to figure out what my best plan of attack is these for the future as I wanted them since I was a kid and saw them in audio stores then but have downsized and use my nice surround sound system without these and the carver gear that I have that drive these. I'm wondering how to determine which one I have and I know I'd like to have these forever but am not sure how I'd incorporate them in my current space. Any help on how to tell which model I have and if there's any thought that these would gain any value as they age.
thanks

Pics would be a huge help for us to help you, also a list of your gear and the room size you are using..
-
You could also start by reading the designation on the backs of the cabinets......

It doesn't matter which ones you have (until you get ready to perform some mods anyway); they are all awesome.
Good luck and enjoy the path that these will lead you down.If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!
Monitor 5Jr, Monitor 5, RTA12, RTA 15TL, SDA 2A, 1c, SRS 2, 1.2TL, CRS, Atrium. -
says SDA SRS on the back and then different 4 digit codes after. 4 tweeters, 8 mids a crossover and 15 in passive radiator. If I keep these what is the best mod to start with?

Probably to buy eight new tweeters from Polkaudio. Do you have the cable that came with that model of speaker ? If so, do you have an amp with common ground on the speaker outputs? This is critical to verify before the cable is hooked up between the two cabinets !

Yeah, a friend and i did it,had manual, yes it is commn ground, sound is fantastic. Just wondering.

The model name for your speakers is SDA SRS. That's it. They were the flagship speaker when they came out. They were later modified by Polk into the 1.2 and later again they became the 1.2TL. There are major differences between the models with the 1.2TL being the best of the breed. The main difference is in the crossover and the tweeters. The later versions used a Tri-Laminate tweeter or SL3000 tweeter that the crossover was optimized for. It helped smooth out some of the treble issues that the SL2000 tweeter caused. Your speakers have the SL2000. But don't get me wrong the SDA SRS is a very good speaker and if you are so inclined updating the crossover and changing out the tweeters for the RD-0194 will vastly improve upon what Polk built all those years ago. And eliminate the treble hump inherent to the SL2000.
As far as gaining value goes. Not really, I have seen them go for as little as 400 up to about 1000 on the high side. But it really depends on there condition. They aren't a Ferrari so value is in the seller more than the buyer on the average. The later versions command much higher prices.
If you can afford to keep them they are very good and can be incorporated well into an HT setup. We can help if you would like to go this route. -
Thanks Joe!
I'd appreciate any info on where, (maybe on here) I might be able to find the tweeter upgrade and the crossover and cost. I'd love to keep them and any resources on upgrade parts would be much appreciated. Thanks for being helpful. That's exactly the reason I jumped on here............... I need some help. -
I would still like to see some pics, also is the cable a pin/blade or blade/blade?
Joe is some what right in thinking they are SDA SRS's but there still could be a chance that you have 1.2's, not all of these speakers are marked with the 1.2/1.2tl. My 1.2's never said 1.2 on them any where but they did say SDA SRS.
So some pics and more info would help a bunch..
