Hello everyone,
* PRICE DROP ON EVERYTHING * SEE BELOW Update - everything but the Klipsch quintets and Audiosource speakers are sold.
Just bought a Yammie HTIB from Best Buy (open box), I like the receiver and DVD player, but the speaks have got go. I have also decided to get rid of: an onkyo receiver, 3 pairs of Klipsch quintets, a Yammie preamp, and an Audiosource surround speaker set.
Okay here we go -
SOLD ***** Onkyo HTR-500 Receiver - This receiver is very similar to the TXSR500 (it looks pretty much identical), but it is the model that they package with their entry level HTIB. It is supposedly 100w x 5 but I don't think that is with all channels driven...it performs more like the txsr500s rated 65 x 5.
Enough power for a small bedroom setup. Works and looks perfect...I have had it for about 6 months (purchased as a refurb from Ubid.com). I'm not sure the warranty is transferrable but will guarrantee not doa. Have the original box, remote and manual, but no antennas. Has DD 5.1, DTS and PLII. Also has B speaker output (will run A + B too but not 5.1 + . $100 plus shipping. SOLD
Klipsch Quintets in white - I have three pair of these little satellites in white. Got them a few months ago (again from ubid) new. Have original boxes and manuals...they are in excellent shape. I used 5 as a surround sound set with various subs and onkyo receiver. 1 has never left the box. They are in excellent shape - 4 of them were wall mounted with the attached swivel-bases so there may be a couple of scratches around the keyholes (not visible when in use) and one of them has a little dark smudge on the corner of the grill fabric, barely noticeable. Never driven hard. These actually sound good with the onkyo...but not quite good enough for me to keep - I just need a csi30 center to complete a second polk 5.1 system. They handle 100w cont. (200w peak). They go for about 90 a pair plus shipping on ebay. I'll take $50 a pair + shipping (if someone wants all of them$160 shipped will take the 6).
And from the Yamaha HTIB, purchased from BestBuy this very morning (and listened to for about 10 minutes) - Yamaha YST-SW005 sub and NSP329 surround speaker set. Sub is a 6 1/2" powered (50w). satellites are 3" woofer and 1/2" tweet - center as two of the 3" woofer. This setup would probably be fine for a kids room or to hook up to an extra recv for games or something. I don't know if Yammie sells this setup seperately (not with the HTIB) but I do know they sell one that looks pretty much just like it for like $199. $50 bucks plus shipping (two boxes) and it is yours. SOLD
Yammie c40 preamp - This pre works great and has done duty for at least two other forum members, Russ and BDT. I got it from Russ a few months ago and after buying a Rotel pre of ebay I don't use it. It is from the mid to late 80's and is showing its age a bit...the audiosource amp2 I had on top of it scratched and slightly dented the top. Works great though. Has phono inputs for MM/MC, DAD, aux, and two tape monitors. $35 plus shipping.
SOLD
Audisource system 380 surround speaker set. Includes SW80 8" sub, 4 LS300 satellites (with plastic mounting brackets) and a center. The satellites have 4" woofs and a (I think) 1/2" tweet...the center has two of the 4" woofs and matching tweet. Purchased new about a year ago from ubid. Been sitting in a closet for the last 6 months since I got the quintets. Okay for a small room or kids room, certainly not audiophile quality but not too bad either. I think the sub amp is 80w peak and 50w continuous. It goes surprisingly low for such a small, lightweight box. Boomy as hell if you like that sort of thing. As an added bonus the satellites are waterproof so you could use them outside or in the garage if you wanted to. Everything is in very good shape, although the center is kind of scratched up from the wire rack I had it in for awhile. 40 bucks plus shipping (it is a pretty bix box).
Some of this stuff is probably a little low-end for this forum, but I thought I would give it a try here before hitting ebay.
Thanks for looking!

Could you queue me up after Russ for the yammie pre? I'm interested but I'd like to talk to you about shipping to Canada if the pre is still available.
Thanks

I just realized steelervic had pm'd me before your email re: the onkyo so I am afraid the deal is done. Sorry about that.

No problem. Looked like a good deal to me. I need to retire my old Pioneer.

What model Pioneer?Expert Moron Extraordinaire
You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you! -
I believe the model number is vsx-5000. You can't find it on Pioneer's website anywhere. It has the original 4 channel dolby surround sound. It was one of the first receivers to integrate audio and video.
-
Nevermind. I can't buy more speakers. Sorry, Jeff

Dave, you go ahead on the pre - I'm out on this one.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Is the Yammie c40 still up for grabs? If so, I'm interested.
You know what, after wading through this thread, it might not be but if it is, let me know. I'm looking for another pre-amp and the C40 will fit my needs just fine.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Hey there Jstas,
Dave (phonisbusy) is interested but we need to find out what the international shipping would run him before he can commit. If it turns out that he doesn't want to do it because of shipping cost you would be on deck. Cool?
Thanks for your interest...man that is a lot of interest on this pre. It is a good deal though. It was a good deal when I paid Russ 60 bucks plus shipping for it a few months back. I'm a fool.

I'm just looking for good equipment on the cheap! I need a solid pre-amp for a second 2 channel I'm setting up and that C40 would be good. If it passes me by, no biggie, I'll just have to keep looking. If it doesn't, I'll jump on it, defintly. Just let me know. Post it here or email me or whatever. wallstreet, i found new onkyo htr-500 receivers for $115.00 shipped! go to www.ecost.com

Damn vic, I had no idea. Now I guess gotta sell you those yammie speaks/sub for 65 shipped.
I'm bookmarking that site for sure. CX380 6 disc player for 70 bucks? Guys, that is a pretty nice changer. I have one of those and a Denon DCM 370 and I like the onkyo much better. It is quieter, seems to change discs faster and to my ears even sounds a little better. And how about the HTR510 (6.1) recv for 149? Crap!system 1:
