Looking to upgrade my old 90's Yamaha SW305's (have two) with newer technology. I want a higher performance compact design (8 inch) and keep the cost under $500 each because I plan to stay with twin subs and spending around $800-900 for the two. Been reading some reviews and have narrowed it down to a few. Looking at the HSU STF-1, Outlaw M8 or the Def Tech supercube II 8 inch. Heard good things about all of them. I will mainly be using them for 2-channel audio with occasional HT use in a 20'x20' room with 10' ceiling. Any suggestions or better subs out there to meet my criteria? Thanks!

For two channel i would go with the HSU or Outlaw. I heard the Outlaw's big brother at a buddies and it was quite musical. And I always liked the way HSU's sound in general. They are very well built.

I have not heard that particular DT but I am not a fan of there subs so much. A little woompy for me. youu know? woomp woomp woomp not bump bump bump.

Checked out the specs on the SPL series. Pretty impressive. Are they very musical? Thanks for the heads up on the Velodyne line.

Been doing some research and ran across Lava subs. Don't know anything about them. I guess they are a fairly new company. Have they earned a reputation yet?
