:question:So just curious as to how most of you folks connect you?re Squeeze Box to your Receiver,pre-amp or DAC (don`t have one yet maybe Christmas)

I?ve had mind for a week.

First I hook it up via Toslink (glass) cable as I never had much time and it sounds great.

On Sunday I changed over to coaxial cable; I notice better bass and it seems like a bit wider soundstage sounds even better.

Now I haven?t tried the RCA cable yet maybe later this week and I?m thinking this is the best way; they are the cheap ones that came with the SB so I will probably try then and pick up a nicer set for comparison to see if I can notice any difference.

The connections are different. RCA is analog and Toslink and Coax are digital so I'm not sure what you are getting at. With the RCA you are using the internal dac with the Toslink or Coax you are using the dac in whatever you are connecting to.

I take it when you were comparing the Coax to Toslink you were using the same unit for conversion. In theory there is very little difference between the two all things being equal. Since you heard such a dramatic change I'd be suspect to your methods. There are differences between the two connections but they are usually very, very subtle.

Thanks for the reply, I wouldn’t say it was dramatic but I can hear a difference.

Now that’s something I didn’t know I will be checking it out when I get home tonight.

So what I was getting at is what the preferred way to hook up the SB to get the most from it.

Well I checked out the cheap RCA cables not sure if it's any better then the digital cables. Of course it is not comparing apples to apples. But I have to say I do like this latest addition to the Rig.
