Sansui G-33000

I have one Sansui G-33000 for sale. I currently have hooked to Monitor 60's. I used De-Oxit on the switches and knobs and it really seemed to make it louder at low volumes, basically put the switches back to how they should sound. I used the F5, D5 and S5 De-Oxit cans on low, where appropriate. Now, I couldn't see where to reach the level meter pots without removing them, to which I did not do. So, the level meters do not work and it is not known if simply cleaning them will make them work or not. I use this stereo in two ways: To play the radio and to also use on Aux for watching movies or TV or concerts, hooked to the output of the main HT. So, I never tried or played either the tape player or record player settings. Nor do I have one to test it out with. I would assume all works except the level meters. I really don't care if this sells or not, but will sell for the right price. you make the offers either via this post or PM is fine. I will check my email daily. I bought this from my uncle, who was in the air force overseas and he brought it back home with him. He listened to it mostly through the headphones only, and me, I use it a few times a week since I bought it. Cleaning those switches earlier today really brought out the monster in it. I don't have it listed anywhere else, as I want it to go to a fellow Polkster, and I have concern over getting the shaft on ebay or craigslist. Of course it is in working condition in how I use it, and of course it comes with an as is and no warranties are written or implied. I can take more pictures and so on and can answer any questions you may have. I am in the Charlotte, NC area, and you can cover shipping. we can go through paypal, and I will ship once payment has cleared, your method of shipping, with a signature required for delivery. This is very heavy and very delicate, and will require extensive and cautious packaging should any one want it shipped. For serious buyers I can drive quite a distance to meet somewhere half way. If I sell this, great you get to enjoy it. If I don't sell it, I will keep enjoying it and pass it down to my son. We could use the money to pay some bills. But, I planned on buying Pioneers top of the line stereo for my new HT, and maybe also an old smaller wattage Sansui or Marantz for the old school audio pleasuring. That is a big reason, as I have to buy something speaker wise that can handle this stereos potential, but, need money for other things and my wife won't let me spend any more than Monitor 70's on sale, when this could really use a much more capable speaker, as you all know. Not knocking the 70's, but rather the 300 WPC that this pushes, still will probably be way too much stereo for them.

I read the rules and didn't see where a price had to be placed. I can place a price, but really was in a fix at placing one. I know on ebay last year one of these sold for over 4k. But, that one had no issues, this one does, the level meter issue, and then it also doesn't look new from the factory either. Then, I got it inexpensive in those terms, as I got it from my uncle. I would say it has a value of 2500-3000 as it sits and sounds and looks. So, lets go with that then. ((($2500))) I will cover paypal fees and shipping for 2500 out the door pricing.

These units come up for sale so rarely and when you do see a legitimate mac daddy stereo like this for sale from an honest dude, really it is a steal for one willing to own this piece of history. 300wpc of pure power, sounding very clean and pure.

TOTL Sansui, well sought after. Not sure you're going to be able to sell that to a Polkie, unless we have some diehard Sansui fans here. Definitely a nice unit and a piece of history.

You should consider listing on ebay with a "reserve" and Paypal only with stated shipping charges and "no returns". Pretty sure that would "cover" you fine and put things, pretty much in the buyer's lap. Just not enough traffic on this site to sell it quickly here.

Then again, keeping such a cherished piece in the family? Priceless!

    GLWTS!

I definitely have a loyalty to my fellow Polksters. All members have been incredibly helpful, patient and caring of fellow members and their well being from what I have seen. Also, the end product and the staff have been great as well. No rush, and no hurries. I have only bought off of ebay and amazon, but never sold, so that is also a hurdle. I do have some items I can move of smaller values to get the feel for it. But again, hoping to keep the Sansui in the polk family if I can.

granted the location of the rules is not very intuitive.

This Receiver is the best one ever made IMHO. Truly a top-of-the-line BEAST that has never been equalled by any other. It could outperform all but the very best of audiophile gear of the time, and would today still humble most everything out there south of 15 grand. I would almost classify this as being separates, given that the pre/tuner section is separate from the amp section itself. It is a very rare piece and worth restoring fully. I have seen a single pristine example, restored and with original packaging go for nearly 10K! Most of the others are between 3 and 5 grand, so this is a fair price. Six months from now and I would be a player on this, but as it stands, I just don't have the room. All I can say is GLWTS, and if it's still available, or we can come to some sort of arraingement where it will be available, shoot me a pm and let me know. For now, getting my tube amps done and getting a house are my top priorities...

    Hi Jim,
I am quite interested in the Sansui, would you be interested in a pair of SDA SRS 2.3's and a pair of SDA 2a's in trade? I was putting together a SDA surround system but have been lusting for a 33000 for a while! I could add a receiver (2 channel or surround) or a little cash,

    Thanks.
Maybe that can be stickied on the FS area where I was looking before posting.
Anyhow, I did follow up with a 2500 out the door price (I cover shipping and paypal fees).
I have had it on literally all day at moderate volumes for radio at first, then TV, as it sounds even better than I have ever heard it after deoxit cleaning with care this morning first thing.
Not looking for trades really, except maybe cash plus an old Marantz of lower but clean power.
Prefer the cash, then I will use towards an Elite Pioneer and a cheaper and weaker clean sound amp like an old smaller Sansui or Marantz. And if it don't sell, no biggie.

Actually, Ed, with those speakers, you would want the G33000 to push them.
    At least, I would think.
Me, if giving up the beauty mac daddy, wouldn't have a stereo good enough to push those speakers.
They do look nice though, as I hadn't seen those models ever.

The pictures don't due this beautiful piece justice. You have to see one to believe the beauty. The size of the faceplace plate, the beveled glass, the lights make this a remarkable vintage piece. The size of the lighted dial and the numerals are stunning!!! Look Here Good luck with the sale.

^^^^ Sansui, in my extremely biased opinion, put out some of the most beautiful looking AND sounding gear back in the day.
Gear that still holds its own against a LOT of modern gear.
This receiver definitely falls into that category, IMO.

Definitely a fair price, especially when you consider the source is a reliable Polkie.

Sure, down the road you might want to upgrade some caps, etc. But in the meantime .... you can enjoy.

    GLWTS !
