Sporadically pouring in MA today; great hifi day!

Slumming in the back room today. All dump finds (not all at the same time), down to and including the speaker cables and the power strip.

Listening to Patty Larkin Regrooving the Dream (a CP fave, at least in some circles).

Must be a better class of dumps in your neck of the woods. Great to take advantage of a rainy day.

    I'll say !!!!
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

    I love it!!

Simple, and all about the music. I love to tweak but sometimes it's nice just to kick back and it just being about the music not what can I do next..

    Enjoy!!

Now you're making me jealous. I have a pair of EPI 100Vs in the closet. My Pioneer SX-838 (which likes them is in the basement, stacked) and I have a 20 pound boot on my left leg that prevents me from carrying the receiver to the speakers to listen to them because I still have to support myself with crutches.

What receiver is that? An old HK or an old Scott? Or something else?

There's a pair of dump find 100Vs in the basement, too. They still need to be refoamed :-p

Today's volunteers are 100Cs (bigger box than the typical 100s). I probably ought to spring for a new pair of XO caps for 'em..., but they still sound pretty good.

The Receiver is a fairly early Kenwood solid state effort, the TK-80. I am fomenting a scheme involving this TK-80. Further details as events warrant :-)

(I acquired a replacement volume knob for it just recently via AK; just making sure it works today!)

Thanks. A Kenwood? I never would have guessed that. Boy that looks pretty clean inside; hard to believe that these oldsters hold on the way they often seem to, if they haven't been abused.

    Have fun!

I think you're just a little too far from here for me to offer to run up and move your Rx and speakers for you whilst you're hobbled ;-)

I'm about to mate a Kyocera R-851 with some Peerless-Monitor 7s fed by a Kyocera CDP.....rain or shine !! I expect nice things like you've put together. Might even hitch up the Thorens and really go "old school"!

Them ol' Monitor 7s like vintage Yamaha... and harman/kardon... and Luxman... just sayin' ;-)
(and, yes, the Kyocera equipment was very nice - I've never heard any hooked to Polk monitors, though)

Mos-fet "tubey" sounding goodness is what the R-851'll be bringing to the party. I have silver, SS, Pio & Scott to throw in the mix too.
