I'M THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING A NEW PIONEER ELITE RECEIVER WITH CLASS D3 Amplification
& IN THERE YOU TUBE VIDEO THEY TALK ABOUT CLASSD(3) BEING FOR MOSTLY TRUE HD DOLBY & DTS HD MASTER AUDIO SOUNDTRACKS ON BLU-RAY DISC FORMAT. I'M JUST WONDERING IF ANY OF
YOU GUYS WOULD KNOW HOW IT SOUNDS WHEN YOU PUT THE RECEIVER IN 2CH. STEREO MODE & LISTEN TO A CD.
SO BASICALLY DOES CLASS D(3) SOUND ANY BETTER THAN CLASS A/B IN STEREO MODE?

These receivers sound good, and would be my only HT receiver choice without going REAL big money. It would sound the same for HT or 2 channel with your speakers so I wouldn't worry about that. Class D can be very good with certain speakers because it likes low impedance and heavy loads, and don't crap out where a typical A/B receivers would.
What speakers would you power with the receiver? -

The Pioneer D is good, but it's not enough to make the A9s shine. You'll need an external amp for that.
Also, those Pioneer Elites have a fairly "neutral" sound which is OK if you like that kind of thing. But for me, for Rtis, which are already a little bright, the Elite doesn't do anything to address that; which is OK for HT, but not for music--again, for my preferences. You may find the neutrality a plus because not everyone likes it warm.

AVTONY2510 you have been threading here for several days should have received a ton of info to dive into and further reserach but there is a certain point that we can't answer because everyone's ears, gear, and combinations of both are different.
"SO BASICALLY DOES CLASS D(3) SOUND ANY BETTER THAN CLASS A/B IN STEREO MODE?"....is an answer only you will know?
Like most have said the most cost effective solution is to get a 2chnl amp for the 9's, try it with your existing AVR, if you don't ike it it's easier to break down your seperates.....FYI- its easier to re-sell an amp than an AVR2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures
Desktop rig: LSi7, Polk 110sub, Dayens Ampino amp, W4S DAC/pre, Sonos, JRiver
Gear on standby: Melody 101 tube pre, Unison Research Simply Italy Integrated
Gone to new homes: (Matt Polk's)Threshold Stasis SA12e monoblocks, Pass XA30.5 amp, Usher MD2 speakers, Dynaudio C4 platinum speakers, Modwright LS100 (voltz), Simaudio 780D DAC
