Other than being a P-mount, which may or may not be limiting in replacement carts., this looks like a pretty well-built unit from Technics. Probably Direct Drive and reasonably heavy, such tables (though not the first choice of Elite TT-aficionados) run and run and run. And anything short of a nuclear holocaust probably won't stop them.

They are also "unbelievably" easy to maintain and require little if any tweaking. So if you're not a seasoned TT boy. This table will serve you for a "long" time to come.

    Enjoy!

you could sell the couterweight on the tonearm for $10, so I think you did pretty good. :) That's a nice little table Chad. A new cartridge is worth the price of admission as well.

I gave one of those to nadams a couple years back. Ask him how he likes it.

The Pickering is a great Cart. It is one of the NOS ones that people search for. A bit heavy so watch how you set it up. Had one on a TT once and loved the sound.

The TT is very nice indeed. Direct Drive I think and sturdy.

Interesting find. There are a couple of NOS Pickering xsp/4004 cartridges on E bay right now. As Joe08867 stated it seems to be well searched for since they are listed at an asking price of over $500.00 each. It is a P mount, but will have an adapter also for a normal 1/2" mount. Make sure to remove the adapter before trying to mount it if the tonearm is designed for a P mount cartridge as it appears to be in the pictures. Now you just need to follow "Sir" George Grand's sale listings and buy lots of vinyl to go with the table.
